I like the potion control options. My cat Budderbean eats too fast & will vomit. This feeder allows me to dispense a tablespoon at a time. Perfect. The set up was a bit challenging but the manual is helpful. I got it set up & have easily reprogrammed it since then. It has a button you can press to dispense a portion manually, in between timed servings. It has a USB cord & also uses batteries, which is good. I find that the white filter/ refresher on the underside of the lid will easily fall off when I'm opening or closing the lid after refills, but this is not a big deal for me. The voice recording option is neat & the cats run like heck when they hear the first clicks of operation. This feeder has been very handy and has allowed me to stay in bed when Budderbean starts singing his 5:00 am breakfast song. Now, if only we could get it to dispense silently:) ;)UPDATE**** After using this feeder several months the mechanism began to make a grinding noise when it would dispense the food. I disassembled it to make sure there were no bits of kibble stuck anywhere but that did not appear to be the case. After the first cleaning, the feeder would dispense silently as usual but it wasn't long before the grinding noise returned. I disassembled and cleaned the mechanism probably two more times over the course of months but this never resolved the problem. This week the little motor mechanism died altogether. The feeder would always be plugged in to the wall but I would have a batteries installed as a backup in the event we lost electricity. I plugged the feeder into a completely different outlet to make sure that the outlet was not the problem, but in fact the mechanism has completely stopped working. As of December 2024 I have owned this feeder 13 months and I would say 6 of those months were with the grinding mechanism Issue. I'm not seeing anywhere on my order information where this can be returned at this point., but I will be contacting the seller to see if I can get a replacement. I should have returned it immediately when the noise started. That's my error. As I read more comments on other Honey Guardian products (automated cat feeders), it appears several other customers have stated that their item worked flawlessly for about 6 months before issues arose.
